Functions
Responsible for reporting to the Preventive Maintenance Supervisor for conducting the preventative, predictive maintenance of OPC mechanical, electronic, electrical, and instrumentation equipment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Because Eastern Shipbuilding is continually growing to meet the needs of our customers, the essential duties and responsibilities may be different than described.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Will not directly and/or indirectly supervise employees assigned to the Preventative Maintenance Team and Contractors. Travel is primarily local, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be required.
Reporting Relationship
This position will report to the OPC Preventative Maintenance Supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent experience. Over two (2) years of experience in the preventative and corrective maintenance and repair of plant electrical, mechanical, or instrument equipment; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Skills:
Considerable knowledge of electrical, mechanical, or instrumentation trades; considerable knowledge of the tools, equipment, and materials used in maintaining plant electrical, mechanical, or instrument equipment; working knowledge of electronic data processing concepts. Ability to read and understand blueprints, schematics, drawings, and service manuals; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others; ability to keep records. Skill in the electrical, mechanical, or instrumentation trades. Computer literate – working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Behavioral Attributes:
The ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance is preferred. Integrity, flexibility/adaptability, initiative, interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and multi-tasking. Maintain the confidential integrity of details pertaining to Eastern Shipbuilding Group.
Working Conditions
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The employee may be exposed to the risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the environment is low to moderate, such as in an office environment.
Physical Activity/Requirements
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
This job will operate in multiple environments, including a professional office environment, and Shipboard during the production, outfit, test, and delivery phases of each Ship. Employees must be able to work in a ship production environment, including climbing, entering tanks and voids, etc., in all weather conditions. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
